Beginner to intermediate photography education done differently

Photography isn't a talent. It's a skill. And like any skill, you get better by practising.

That's where most photography education gets it backwards. Instead of giving you the fun real-world skills you actually need to get started, it throws you in the deep end with theory, tech-jargon, and countless hurdles standing between you and your dream photos.

Not here! At the Photography Practice Club you’ll learn how to start taking better photos from day one. We won’t kick you off Auto Mode until you’re ready. We’ll build a foundation of confidence, competence, and creativity. And above all, we’ll show you how easy it is to practice, practice, practice!

Everything in the Club is built around The One Thing Method:

  1. Break your dream photos down into bite-size skills

  2. Pick one

  3. Practise

  4. Progress!

It's simple. It's enjoyable. And it works.

Soon you’ll be stacking your rock-solid skills together and taking the best photos of your life.

And did I mention you can practice your skills literally anywhere that suits your lifestyle? On any topic, under any conditions?

Yep. There are no barriers to breakthroughs here.

It’s never been easier (or more fun) to take up photography.

Meet Your Mentor

Anika Berkman is a Sydney-based portrait, travel, and landscape photographer.

Before training as a professional photographer, she taught four different instruments at a contemporary music school, and enjoyed an exciting corporate career in the publishing and research sectors.

Throughout it all, she taught the people around her how to pick up new creative skills efficiently - and how to enjoy the process. From world-class researchers to first-time guitarists, best-selling authors to camera-shy colleagues, Anika has held their hand and showed them that the key to learning any new skill is an effective and engaging strategy, joy, and community - and she’s building the Photography Practice Club around those pillars.
